These pavements…(2024)

What myths and secrets do these pavements hold?

These pavements… is an audio trail along the Old High Street Intra in Chatham, UK. It moves through layers of time and space, blending fact with fiction…

Six audio stories, inspired by the street’s history and geology, were created by Kevin Grist and Jane Pitt with contributions from Sam Hall and Kate Mechedou.

Below are the three audio stories created by Kevin; each containing spatialised, binaural elements.

The full set, that includes Jane’s work with Kate, are available on location using lamp post QR signs, or on Soundcloud. They are best listened to with headphones.

The project was supported by the Intra Community Trust, Historic England and Medway Council.
